Understanding their extent is often the greater challenge
Without detailed inspection data, it can be difficult to fully characterize observed conditions and understand what is happening along the asset.
That's where Zupt's contactless 3D Recon V2 technology comes in.
Operating from an ROV or AUV, the system collects the data needed to generate a high-resolution point cloud or mesh model of a pipeline section and the surrounding seabed in a single pass.
By integrating an inertial navigation system with five high-definition cameras, the system accurately models a larger area of visible pipeline and nearby seabed while creating a scalable deliverable.
The resulting model can be integrated with vehicle positioning information to provide the absolute position of the surveyed asset, delivering detailed visibility into:
- Corrosion and anomalies
- Free span length and depth
- Anode depletion
This same 3D Recon technology is also used to generate high-resolution, color-palletized models for the inspection of transmission lines, structures, and as-built infrastructure associated with offshore wind projects.
