Electromagnetic methods for marine exploration have been used extensively in the last decade to assist in the delineation of oil and gas reservoirs, and to reduce the risk of drilling dry wells. Zupt’s EM-AHRS provides precise heading and attitude data of the EM measurement sensor necessary for optimizing the resolution of these EM survey methods.

The EM-AHRS is the first to provide a cost-effective solution based on combined inertial and acoustic navigation sensors. Upon configuration at the surface, the EM-AHRS system operates fully autonomously to collect the required measurements and process heading and attitude of the EM components. Because the system does not use magnetic sensors for heading or attitude, there is no loss of accuracy even with repeated use.

Both processed data as well as raw data observations for quality control purposes are delivered by the system. The data provided by the EM-AHRS can be configured for any format for direct interface into EM survey software.
